PIT/ATL trade
Pittsburgh Sends:
SP Jimmy Barthmaier 83/86
RP Daniel Moskos 82/89
2B Brian Friday 71/82
CF Chris White 65/95
Atlanta Sends
C Brian McCann 87/93
SS Yunel Escobar 90/93
This trade allows me to add some offensive production to a staff that actually hasn't done a bad job this year, they just get no support. Unfortunately it cost me some high quality specs, but that's the deal.

Re: PIT/ATL trade
Atlanta Gets:
Chris White OF/2B 62/94 $12,000
Brian Friday 2B 75/85 $380,000
Jimmy Barthmaier Sp 82/85 $20,000
Daniel Moskos Rp 81/87 $380,000
Pittsburgh Gets:
Brian McCann C 88/93 $4,466,666
Yunel Escobar INF 92/94 $380,000
This trade, although I lose two decent young players, will help keep Atlanta near the top for many seasons to come. It also addresses my need for a closer as Moskos is a legit closer canidate.

Re: PIT/ATL trade
Ok, I'm going have to vetoe. Atlanta could get 3 of those players for McCann, adding Escobar is just rediculous.
By the way when you post a trade the players line would need to be in this format
Pit sends/ Atlanta receives
PIT CF White, Chris 65 95 20 $12,000 Arb '11
PIT 2B Friday, Brian 71 82 23 $380,000 Arb '11
PIT SP Barthmaier, Jimmy 83 86 24 $20,000 1
PIT RP Moskos, Daniel 82 89 22 $380,000 Arb '11
Atlanta Send/ Pit receives
ATL C McCann, Brian 87 93 24 $4,466,666 6
ATL SS Escobar, Yunel 90 93 25 $380,000 Arb '11
Its done this way just so the mods can see all the ratings, salary, and how long the player is locked up.

Re: PIT/ATL trade
Escobar is underperforming for him at the major league level and he wanted to get something for him before his value lessened. i agree 3 specs for McCann and Chris White (this years #4 overall pick) for Escobar. I'd like to hear from the other Commish's on this one. Maybe at least offer a suggestion as to how to get it through, instead of referring to it as "rediculous". I think this trade works out evenly for both teams.

Re: PIT/ATL trade
I don't see how you can say Escobar is underperforming when he has only played 8 games and 28 AB's. Also remember you have him under team control for the next 3 years at 380K and he is already a 90 rating, thats huge. For me to accept this you either have to add another 90+ prospect or 2 mid 80's. Basically the Braves aren't receiving the value for Escobar.

Re: PIT/ATL trade
i gotta agree with the madone here...you have one of the best young catchers in the game and one of the best young SS going in the same directions...i gotta say no here

Re: PIT/ATL trade
I change my mind I approve. If the Braves really want to ruin their chances of making the playoffs go ahead. Its amazing that your trading the best catcher and best young SS (that are cheap) in the game when you in the middle of a playoff hunt, especially for players that havn't seen time in the majors yet.

Re: PIT/ATL trade
Ihave to admit I believe as the Braves GM I feel you guys are missing the entire point of this trade. MCCann will be a loss however Escobar is blocked by a player who is better. Withthe way the game works, I might ot make the playoffs this year however I will be a force for the next decade. Sometimes you have to sacrifice the present for a better future.

Re: PIT/ATL trade
how is escabor underperforming? he hasnt played in the majors AT ALL, and has a 350 ave in the minors? mccan is a 300+ ave guy whos a top 3 catcher at 25 yrs old. The hudson one is ok, but this just confuses me.
Re: PIT/ATL trade
i got 2 approvals....
The rules are these...
Once 2 Mods/Admins have deemed the trade to be fair enough and it does not display any signs of collusion it will be finalized and appear in updated rosters.
I don't care if there are people that don't like it. The bottom line is that we both agred and 2 mods approved....now please let this trade go through as per your rules, or fine yourself for being in breach of them! I would like ALL of the changes to my roster made that I put into "Roster Changes" You neglected to do them, even the many of then that had nothing to do withy the trade.
And for the life of me, how does this not go through and all the trades for Zumaya,Utley, Howard do! No way those teams trade those guys!
On a side note, it would show some class to let me know through PM or email that my trade did not go through. I stopped looking at trade after it was already passed.

Re: PIT/ATL trade
1. mods are just people to approve deals when both admins are not on, that cant make a deal final if their are vetoes by the admins...also u cant trade drafties in the first year....and the best player ur giving is one .
Re: PIT/ATL trade
also this is why ur deal is far from Howards deal:
ARI 1B Jackson, Conor 81 90 24 $392,000 Arb '09
ARI 3B Reynolds, Mark 84 90 23 $380,000 Arb '10
ARI SP Parker, Jarrod 77 94 18 $380,000 Arb '10

PHI 1B Howard, Ryan 91 94 27 $900,000 Arb '08
PHI RP Madson, Ryan 82 89 26 $1,100,000 3
PHI RP Mesa, Jose 68 68 40 $2,500,000 1
(take out D'Antona for Madsen and Mesa)
u really got
ARI 1B Jackson, Conor 81 90 24 $392,000 Arb '09
ARI 3B Reynolds, Mark 84 90 23 $380,000 Arb '10
ARI SP Parker, Jarrod 77 94 18 $380,000 Arb '10
for
PHI 1B Howard, Ryan 91 94 27 $900,000 Arb '08

Re: PIT/ATL trade
what disappoints me about this is that this whole thing being cancelled gave me know time to do other trades that could have compensated for the loss. Again, I would reccommend that you PM the GM's who have had a trade go through and then turned down by you.
The rule about trading first year draftees is not in our league rules. It's convenient to throw that in as well. I have a new idea for a trade that should go through easily..... Pudge Rodriguez for Christian freaking Guzman! Don't give me any "stats" crap, that would never go through.

Re: PIT/ATL trade
I think the point they are trying to make is that its not the real players you are trading like pudge for guzman, its the ratings in the game and pudge is only an 81 or sumthing...

Re: PIT/ATL trade
I understand that point. What I am trying to say is that sometimes GM's place higher or lesser value on a player beyond the number beside their name. Ther are other things to consider and it is very short sighted to just look at the numbers. Look at pro sports for a second, did it make any sense for the Raiders to trade Randy Moss for a 3rd round pick? Not really.... Who did the Cardinals trade for Mark McGwire? Nobody of any value.... There are other things to consider as a GM like Needs and future and a solid farm system to build on. Not all trades are going to add up in terms of rating when those things are considered. We should be able to be trusted as GM's to make the calls that will set our teams up to be contenders, it may work, it may not, but it's our call. Would A-Rod have ever been traded for Alfonso Soriano? On the contrary, the trade that made more sense, Manny for A-rod, was the one denied by the Union!
